Having said that, where exactly are we now in this whole process? First, let me clear up a few things for those that may not follow as closely. 😊 Our family of seven is moving to Poland to join an incredible team of believers that are sharing Jesus and the English language in the city of Lubin. We are unbelievably excited about it. Dustin and myself along with our Pastor and his wife had the opportunity to visit the team in Poland in the spring of 2017. The missions community appropriately calls this a "vision trip." During that trip, it became clear to us that God had found a place for us to serve as a family with this already existing team. So for those of you that thought we'd already been to Poland, you were right! We did already go but without our kids and only for 12 days which is 353 days less than we are aiming for. 😜 So that brings most up to speed.
So, here we are working our way to Poland. We are still actively seeking prayer partners. If you aren't already, would you consider praying for us. We'd love to hear from you. If you have a place on your fridge or inside of your Bible for our support card, we'd love to get one to you. My cousin created such beautiful cards for us. What a blessing! If you'd like one please send us a message at petroskyfamily@hotmail.com or through Facebook and we will deliver or mail one to you. Do you think your church would be willing to pray for us? Let us know and we'd love to make contact.
What else is going on? We anticipate putting our home up for sale in the next month. No, it isn't on the market yet. Why not? Well, because we live here . . . all seven of us . . . nearly 24 hours a day . . . homeschooling . . . eating three meals . . . seven days a week. Catching my drift? But seriously, we have been working as much as possible in our free time to paint, clean, and weed out. Phew! It's rewarding and refreshing and I wish I would have started it years ago. Also, we have a few things that need a contractors touch and have chosen one to do the few odds and ends that we can't do ourselves. In addition to getting the house ready, we've been working, and running around with four kiddos on three different basketball teams. Basketball comes to a close this coming weekend giving us extra time we didn't have before. Yay! If all goes well, we should be able to put a sign in our yard pretty soon. We will start off "For Sale by Owner." I've been trying to stage a few rooms here and there as I can to at least grab pictures. So far, I have pictures of two rooms. Ha! Not quite there yet.
Why are we selling our home if we are only going to be gone for a year? See previous blog post: http://petroskystopoland.blogspot.com/2018/01/god-is-on-move-and-so-are-we.html. We plan on serving the year in Poland and following God's lead for the future. I could sit here and say that we plan on doing X, Y, and Z but we have no way of knowing what life is going to look like after one year in Poland and that's terrifyingly wonderful!
Things to be praying for:
1.) More prayer partners!!!!!!!!
2.) Obviously, the house is a biggie. Getting it ready, finding a buyer, timing, etc.
3.) Finding the right international health coverage that covers the whole family for our year abroad with reasonable cost.
4.) Financial supporters. We are not fully funded but are taking a leap of faith that the timing is right for us to go.
5.) VISA paperwork. We will apply for residential VISAs while in Poland but just praying that the process is smooth and that we remember all the correct paperwork.
6.) Picking out the right curriculum for homeschooling abroad that will meet the specific needs of our children and family.
7.) I'm going to be elusive here, I have one unspoken request. It's a sensitive one but I pray God continually equips us for that which He has called us to do.
Thank you for taking your time to read through our blog posts. We appreciate you so much!
